~No Turning Back~

Chris was jamming on a riff written by his friend and was thinking about all of the hypocrites, manipulators, and those who would raise an entire generation of kids on Ritalin and cable TV (amongst other things that we have issues with in modern society). He played a rough demo for Scott (not yet a member of No Turning Back) who said "What, are you trying to write a new anthem?" Apparently, he was.

The original plan was to have a large group of our friends in the studio to sing the final refrain to the song, giving a large chorus of singers effect. That plan did not work out. Instead, we set up a mic in the control room, played back Chris' part through the studio monitors while he sang in the room along with the playback feed and we recorded that combination to another track. When mixing, that second vocal track was copied a couple of times with a few effects added to create what is heard here. So, in fact, Chris also gets the backing vocal credit.

The last show we played was at The Rave in Milwaukee. We ended that gig with Anthem. We decided to end the first CD of this collection with it as well.
