~No Turning Back~

Close to the time when Chris turned 30, he had a freak-out moment in which he stopped, looked over his life, and felt as though he had wasted 3 decades of his life. Eventually, he calmed down (a bit) and reflected on life as a whole from several viewpoints. The lyrics tell the stories while the chorus refrain the point home.

Scott gets backing vocal credit here. In fact, it is Scott heard coughing at the end as well. He was not feeling well the night the vocals were tracked and instead of trying to match Chris' vocals only during the refrain, he sang the entire song with the intent of only being heard during the refrain. The task was a bit much for him that night, waited until he thought Chris had finished recording, and lost it. While mixing, it surprised Scott and he decided to keep it as it made him smile (easily amused...).
