~Bluefire~

My Last Breath is usually attributed to No Turning Back because it is aggressive and no one had heard it before. The fact is, it was conceived by Bluefire. Scott was noodling around and came up with the bass line and then Chris and Erik started banging away, trying to come up with something that fit. Chris came up with some lyrics and we spent some time trying to build the song around them a little better. Ultimately, we decided it would not fit in with the rest of our songs at the time and that maybe wes should start our own side project that focused on heavier music. The idea died a slow, painful death, and so My Last Breath was put on the shelf to collect dust and be ignored for a very long time.

When Scott quit Bluefire, Noah Armstrong filled the vacancy and the band took to a new sound. As such, Bluefire was retired and No Turning Back was born. When Scott auditioned to fill Noah's eventual departure from the band, he decided to try out My Last Breath to see how it felt. It was as if there was no down time and the band was playing the song every week. Within a few more days, the song was finished and ready to present to the world. It has only been performed outside of Rainbird Studios a few times but it has already become a fan favorite.
